Veteran’s Day 2016- Cherokee, North Carolina

I had the honor of attending the Veteran’s Day ceremony in Cherokee today. Not only did we celebrate Veteran’s Day, we celebrated the unveiling of the new PFC Charles George statue. PFC Charles George, a Cherokee, served in the Army and sacrificed his own life to save his fellow soldiers. He was awarded the Medal of Honor two years after his death. The statue that was created in his honor is nothing short of fantastic.

We remembered a fallen hero today, but we also honored our living Veterans through speeches, song and dance. I swear that everyone who participated today did an outstanding job and I’m sure all of us veterans appreciated all the hard work and planning that went into such a well executed production. Thank you so much!
